A Long Overdue Update

Ok,I finally have some time to sit and write and try to catch everyone up on the craziness that is our lives. I hope you have some time to dedicate to this because it's gonna be a long one.

Now where to start? I guess we'll start with the whole baby thing. So obviously, we had the baby. It will actually be a month tomorrow, but it seems like just the other day. I actually can't believe it's a month. So baby came out good. Lisa was good. She was actually doing so well afterwards that they let her come home a day early. She was up and walking around the next day. The whole thing went smoother than we could have hoped for. Jessica was born on Tuesday and they came home a day earlier than they were supposed to on Thursday.

We got home Thursday and got settled and then I had to go pick Lisa's mom up at the airport. We pretty much just hung around the house for the next week. I went and got a new tattoo, Jessica's name with her birthday and footprints. Got it on my ribs, which they say is supposed to be the most painful spot, but I didn't think it was that bad. Did some projects around the house like putting up a tile backsplash in the kitchen, and went to the shooting range a few times. nothing too exciting, just sitting around and getting fat. So Lisa's mom stayed for a week and a half and left on the 2nd and after she left, a few hours later, my parents arrived.

My parents were down for a week and we pretty much did the same thing, just hung around the house. I did some more projects like putting up shelves in my garage and thats about it. my parents left on saturday the 8th and we had a day and a half to ourselves to finally relax. it was great to see our parents and have them down, but after two weeks of nonstop action, it was nice to finally be able to sit back and relax.

So Monday comes around and I have to go back to work after having 3 weeks off. I was not looking forward to it. Waking up that morning was not fun, and I didn't think work was going to be either. So I get to work and get to my desk and my computers and all of my stuff are gone. So I ask my friend Ross what happened to all of my stuff and he shows me my nice, brand new, shinny office. While I was gone, they decided to move me into an office. So that makes the day a little better and maybe coming back to work won't be so bad. So i spend the next few hours getting settled in my office and then my boss, who is down from NY, comes in and wants to talk to me. So we talk and I find out that I got another promotion. Apparently I should take 3 weeks off more often. The day turns out to be pretty good after all. So basically I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to catch up on everything for the 3 weeks that I was out while also trying to take care of all the new stuff that was heaped on me. So I have had barely any time to do anything.

Jessica is doing really good, and she is actually sleeping pretty well. She usually sleeps about 4 hours at a time and is pretty content. We have been pretty lucky considering some of the horror stories that I have heard. Lisa is trying to adjust to her new life as a stay at home mom. The dogs are pretty indifferent to Jessica. Carl will sniff her and check her out once and a while, but they don't really show too much interest in her. We are finally getting around to sending out the official birth announcements, so you should see those in a week or so. Other than all that, there really isn't anything else going on. I might be up in Jersey the weekend of Oct 27th as Wilson and i are supposed to go to the Devils home opener at the new arena and Kenisti has graciously offer to have some people over and allow me to crash there, but that is not definite yet.

So seeing as it has taken me almost 3 hours to write this as I have had to go to meetings and deal with stuff and have to go to another in a few, I guess I will wrap this up. uh, not sure exactly how to close this so..........
